  • Sequioa Nat. Park is amazing. These trees only grow in a certain temperate zone called the "cloud forest".

I remember visiting there once, right after one of the tree's largest branches (6ft. in diameter and 100 ft. long) broke off in a storm.

Just took my kids there for the first time about a year ago. Thanks for the video of an old friend.

  • these tree's live to be from 500 to 3000 years old, the redwood is the most bug resistant, fire resistant of all the trees. I use to live in the redwood forest, wonderful place to retire.

  • Amazing to think that the General Sherman has been living for 2,700 years now. I went to Sequoia National Park many times while growing up, and again a few years ago. Such a stunning display of the strength and beauty of nature. Thanks for posting this.

    • One of my Duties in life has been the preservation of trees. The United Kingdom has some awesome trees. I gave my pictorial book to an Englishwoman who runs a charity serving the poor in our neighborhood here in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She has kept it there in her office for five years now.

  • That's a great video. We went there on our vacation past June. They are the largest trees by volume, Redwoods are taller. It's just an amazing site to see. That's what I love about America...preservation of lands valuable for man kind. Voted

  • Isn't it ironic, that Sherman probably burned down enough fine majestic homes to probably make a dozen of those fine majestic trees.
