    • @jeffbaustin "Leftover"? This is the new AH-1Z Viper and it only became combat-ready in September 2010. This is not the same aircraft that served in Vietnam War as many would assume. Lots of new technology incorporated into this beast.

    • @Cheeseman I know that. But, does the Army use the Huey and the Cobra any more? No. And the Marines use the older Abrams tank. Look at footage from Iraq of Marines still using M-16's, and not the M4 variant. And on, and on....

  • I was told by a Apache Pilot that the reason a huey always flies with a cobra is because the sighting system on a cobra is proper shit, so they use the laser from the huey.

    • @bigcats The ah1 z is no ordinary cobra you may be talking about old cobra .the avionics and weapons systems ,engines ,rotors are all brand new and state of the art .newer than the apache .the uh 1 yis no ordinary Huey either .?.the marines decided to go with these aircraft as they require a lot less maintenance than the apache and the unit cost was a lot less .the marines ordered 200 of the new cobra s in 2010 and the first operations are just taking place in Afghanistan

    • @bigcats The reason the usually flew with Huey's is because troops were usually landing in the Huey and the cobra was giving air cover
