Battle for Okinawa
Archive colour footage showing the final hours of the attack on Okinawa in 1945. The majority of the Japanese refuse to surrender and must be eliminated in their caves and bunkers using hand grenades, high explosive and flame-throwers. A few surviving civilians hidden inside the same caves with the Japanese soldiers, old men, women and children in terrible conditions.

Nice footage. Thanks for uploading.
Many people associate the Marines fighting only in jungle environments during WWII, but in Okinawa they had to fight a completely urban warfare when they were ordered to capture the city of Naha.
And, by the way, these images were really filmed in colour,contrary to other recent uploads here in Liveleak. War photographers used mostly "Filmo" Automaster 16mm cameras loaded with Kodachrome film to capture these superb images.
