Police looking for a teenage mother who has been missing from her home in Rotherham for three days have brought in divers to search a canal.

Laura Wilson, 17, was last seen by friends on Saturday night close to her home in the Holmes area of the town.

Police have found items thought to be Miss Wilson's and the towpath of the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation Canal has been sealed off.

A 17-year-old local youth has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Miss Wilson's four-month-old daughter is being cared for by relatives, South Yorkshire Police said.

A force spokesman said: "At this stage, officers are still treating this as a missing person investigation and are continuing to make inquiries to locate Laura.

"Forensic tests are being carried out and police divers will be on site to search the canal."

The towpath was being treated as "a potential crime scene", the spokesman added.

He said: "The family have not heard from Laura since Saturday evening and are understandably distraught and plead with the public to help them trace their loved one."

Laura is described as white, 5ft 7in tall and of medium build. She has dark collar-length hair. SOURCE

Rothertham has been in the news quite a bit lately - mostly for the vast muslim pedophile rings operating there.

Let's hope that the plethora of soft headed muslim apologist judges, currently presiding in England, don't again see this heinous murder as a sign of "temporary and recent "bad (muslim) character" but rather yet another fatal result of the Quran taught ideology of how women are perceived and (mis)treated in Islam.

And clearly British women continue to pay a very high price for multiculturalism.

TWO men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenage mum from Rotherham.
Ishaq Hussain, aged 21, of Ferham Road, Masbrough and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, are charged with murdering Laura Wilson, aged 17, the mother of a baby daughter, Alesha.

Laura's body was found in the South Yorkshire Canal near her home in Hartington Close, Holmes, on Oct 12. Magistrates sent the case to Sheffield Crown Court.
