Greetings LiveLeakers, Poosti Malaka here just posting a short video of a recent little foray we had at Parc La Verendrye. Located in northern Quebec, about a four hour drive north from Montreal, this park is thousands of square kilometers of lakes. Little ones. Big ones. Creeks. Portages. In fact there are so many lakes that there are very few trails - you can't walk more than a hundred yards and not land in a lake. This is some of the most beautiful countryside in Canada.
We had loons supervising us all day and singing to us all night. The beavers were really active and organized. You could set your watch by them - 8 pm and they smash their tail on the water announcing their presence, then they beaver all night.
For anyone into canoe camping, hunting or fishing - this is God's country. I've been back less than a day and miss the place already. The first time I was there was about 40 years ago. This place is the crack cocaine of camplands - one taste and you will be hopelessly addicted.
I hope to see you there and remember to keep you paddle in the water and your hockey stick on the ice.
Cheers!
