That's a larger enclosure? No wonder it went for you. Poor thing. Let it run around your house.

"Goes from completely calm to not making a move to full on threat postures and strikes..........not very happy.....they are very convicted species when it comes to being all around hateful."
Sounds like he is speaking of my wife.

Tarantulas are not that venomous, they are very fast indeed.
This guy is very frightened like he is handling a Eastern Diamondback damn it
You shouldn't have a pet that you don't know crap about

@Floating Turd This is an old-world variety of tarantula, compared to the new-world variety which are far less aggressive and venomous. Most pet tarantulas are new world tarantulas, often scooped up from somewhere in North America (they're all over the place out where I live). Old world tarantula venom hasn't really been studied, but first hand accounts suggest that it isn't fun in the least bit, and there's a possibility for an allergic reaction.

My girlfriend and I were at the pet store and we walked up to one of the tarantulas and I said, "I would like to have one of these one day." Her immediate response was, "I'll never sleep in your fucking house again!" That's the first time I've heard a swear out of her in a long while. Suffice it to say I won't be getting one.

@BeansAndOnions ..... Nobody has ever died from a tarantula bite in recorded history.... People are often killed by dogs, but we think its normal to keep decendants of wolves

The guy said if it bit him, he would have to go to the hospital.
People are not at all often killed by dogs. I would never own a big or muscle dog anyway.
