  • Burning any literature is an act of idiocy. Basically, it says everyone is too stupid to read the book and decide for themselves whether it's worth believing or not. It says you have to have someone else make the decision for you.

Come on people, does anyone still need a "mommy and daddy" figure to tell us what we can and can't believe in?

Grow up, read a book, make a decision for yourself. If anyone asked me to burn any book so it didn't taint the mind of someone else, I'd tell More..

  • burning the book was wrong.. but the soldier was doubly wrong.. he doing that endangered himself and his fellow troops.. its like going to a baptist revival and trying to get them all to change to Islam and yes the soldiers and all military people are told to not stir the pot with the locals especially releigion,, he should be sent home and discharged. when i was still active i always was instructed to tell the Marines in my battlion to lay off the religion towards the Afghans

  • The military does not have ONE extra minute to rescue some evangelical bible touting moron (with all due repsect to members of the military) when he gets attacked by some pissed of Muslims.

What's next? A military escort for Tom Cruise and a truck load of Scientologist toilet paper?

  • In this case the US commanders probably made the right choice, so get over it, bible thumpers. Alot of these islamics are like a bunch of nutty little children when it comes to their dubious religion- but instead of throwing tantrums about it they cut peoples heads off and blow them up. If you're a right thinking Christian you realize its no big deal just for military necessity.

  • One day ,you will all know what was important in this life. Waring gloves to touch the koran, and burning the word of God, perfect military sense.

  • He "didn't know" he wasn't supposed to proselytize? Any military-types care to speak to whether you were given instructions when out in the suck as to whether you could hand out religious stuff?

  • probably the first worthy accomplishment of the whole misadventure. If you can't kill bad guys, might as well burn up some fairy tales.

  • I can understand trying to get these people to look at the insanity of Islam, and trying to get them to make another decision where to estlabish their priorties, but America has no right to preach Christianity, or any religion to them.

  • That is blasphemy, all you christians must get to the streets and burn the US flag in protest and behead idols of the US president.
Oh wait, thats right, christians aren't muslims, my bad. It's only some republicans who may want to do the second half of my suggestion.

  • Bibles aren't even worth the lighter fluid used to torch them.
