Broadcast between 1983 and 1984, a whopping 13 episodes! One episode was not aired in the original broadcast but was included in syndication. This show has been broadcast in about 26 countries. So, it was widely distributed for a relatively short and unknown series.

Yet another series by that producer who I think is probably part machine himself, Glen A. Larson. It's not Auto as in "Car" man, Automan is short for Automatic Man. Inspired and heavily influenced by the movie Tron which came out a couple years before in 1982. The special effects in Automan and Tron, though similar, were creted differently. Tron used hand painted effects, with blue/green screen chromakey overlay. Here is the lowdown on the special effects for Automan if you're interested. It's a short read. http://www.barbeefilm.com/automn01.htm

Did you like Street Hawk, Airwolf, Stingray, Thunder in Paradise or Night Rider? If so give Automan a try. Same period and production values, the premise might appeal to you. He's not your typical computer generated, police officer/superhero, crime fighting, hologram that was generated by an artificial intelligence.

Vincent Price totally rocks, if you don't think so that's okay because you can go fuck yourself. :D
