Another reason why I'm glad to live out in the country, Yeah, if I lose power I'm one of the last to get it back, but I've got my trusty generator, wood stove, plenty of gas and wood to keep me nice and toasty for an entire winter if needed!

-Same here, our primary is in a metro of just under a million, we are set up there to self sustain there for about 30 days (4ppl). But at our families ranch, we have several springs, dozens of well fed stock tanks, a year round stream, over a dozen sections of mixed wooded. Our family has lived off this land for generations and it is a WONDERFUL feeling be self reliant and knowing that the rest of the world can go to crap with its grid-type nature and we wouldn't even blink.
