At least he wasn't in Russia. He could have crashed into another guy freefalling with a helmet cam.

LOL. Either that or some kid would have been casually walking around on top of his balloon, fixing up some kind of home made bungee jump.

@CieL Pretty sure the wide angle lens makes it look more curved than it is. Still awesome though.

@hilljack998 To be fair neither man was in space. The stratosphere is below the mesosphere and above the troposphere, it's uppermost part 38 miles from space. Felix jumped from 24 miles up, and you aren't in space until you're roughly 62 miles high.
Not attempting to diminish an awesome feat, but people commonly refer to this as a jump from space. It really isn't close.

His fucking massive balls caused an imbalance in his body which caused him to spin

This will be the budget method to return astronauts from the ISS in the near future. Give them a parachute, a bump and some good wishes.

@MrPainfulTruth well, first you have to fit the astrounauts with some retrorockets, because otherwise they be going a hot mach 8-12 and they burn up in the atmosphere, but i can surely see this escape being used in the first stages of a rocket launch gone wrong.

@MrPainfulTruth The ISS is in orbit over 250 miles from Earth. Also it resides in a microgravity environment. Jumping or pushing off of it would have little affect on your acceleration. Without propulsion you'd run out of oxygen way before reaching the atmosphere.

Still amazing how you can free fall from space over 700 MPH. But you cant rise to the surface of the ocean while scuba diving more than 10 MPH without possibly dying.

LOL mate, I'm an enthusiast diver and I can assure you that, if you resurface @ 10MPH from a dive, your not gonna be fine at all. Maximum vertical ascent allowed is 10 meters per minute. :)

If you mean the longest time in freefall your right he didn't, but I believe Felix decided to pull his chute early and let Joe keep the record till his dying die. Baumgartner is a class act.

@Mr Ebk Joe pulled it off 42 years ago without today's technologies and all those advancements that Felix had.
No sir, Joe is a class act.
Felix is just a replica, nothing special.

@Jacob749 i kind of agree. joe was the greater man. & had a torn glove he kept silent about so they wouldn't abort. for the record, it was 52 years ago.
