Barnsey, I lived in SA for a few years and I reckon these are starlings. I have never seen a bigger flock of starlings however than those that live near the railway bridges going into Glasgow Central train station. I will try and film it this summer and upload it. the only problem is though you get bombarded by all their shit.

Not too sure what you mean by "grey vermin" but if you have fox squirrels you're better off by having them. The reds are sheat and don't have any meat on the like the foxys do.

I did look it up they do both simultaneously from the common chamber cloaca. All I know is I was looking up into a big oak tree once and something monstrous crapped in my eye. Burned like hell and blinded me for half hour- I had nothing to wash it out with. Never did see what the hell it was.
