High winds battered Britain Friday, and caused big problems for pilots trying to land in heavy crosswinds.
One small passenger jet was nearly sideways trying to land at the Leeds-Bradford airport. Video shows the pilot bringing the plane down almost perpendicular to the runway, and gusts caused it to plummet more than once as it came in.
The pilot managed to straighten the plane out just moments, and only a few feet, before touching down.
The wind was so strong that many flights had to be diverted or delayed, but this one managed to land safely.
Even after the landing, strong winds buffeted the plane on the runway. The winds were strong enough to damage roofs and topple trees in that area of northern England.
