Make your own bricks. Knock out a few thousand of these & you'll have a house in no time.
HOW TO:
These type of bricks are known are formed by a cement and soil mix, then forced with a pressure of 70 to 100 pounds. The brick formed is then ejected, set in a cool place, and left to cure for up to 3 weeks.
These bricks may be labor intensive to fabricate, but are also strong, durable, fireproof, cost very few out-of-pocket dollars, and have good insulative qualities. In short, if you've got more time than money, you want to build with native materials, and you need a structure that will last .

He needs to look around and try to find something to build a little foundation for that contraption. He could use bricks maybe, if he can find some, somewhere...

@WsDennis lol
Its all interconnected, jobs left the US for China and later so did the houses.
Speaking of jobs
But as Steve Jobs of Apple spoke, Obama interrupted with an inquiry of his own: What would it take to make iPhones in the United States? Not long ago, Apple boasted that its products were made in America. Today, few are. Almost all of the 70 million iPhones, 30 million iPads and 59 million other products Apple sold last year were manufactured overseas.
Why can't that work come home? More..

I know of a Danish project builing houses in Africa with a machine like that one (a little more sophisticated, but with the same results). It's not clay used, it's just ordinary soil that gets compressed. There is some specs for the amount of water in it though. These houses can actually hold for quite some years, if you protect the stones from rain with a proper roof. This is much better than the traditional African huts, that easily gets washed away when it rains.

@madcap1974 Cool, any idea what those machines are called? It would be nice to buy some for the gazans that are prevented from importing cement.

@desdinova It is build by http://www.egenvinding.dk/ homepage only in Danish. You can see the machine in this video - just press download. It's a long video, in Danish language mainly, but about halfway into the video you see the machine. The pressure applied to the stones is 40 tons, and it makes 180 stones a day. http://vimeo.com/28627189

@madcap1974 Very nice. Thanks for the information, I shall forward it to some people in the ship to gaza movement as well as people on the egyptian side of the border and perhaps they can investigate if the earth in the gaza strip is usable in that machine. Perhaps they already have those there. Either way it deserves to be investagated. Thanks again
