Radio transmissions of sheriff's officers deciding to burn Chris Dorner out of the cabin.

At 29:30 of the first file you here them decide to "go with the burn"
While law enforcement officials scoured the hillsides above Big Bear Tuesday searching for Christopher Dorner, wardens from California’s Department of Fish and Wildlife were called in to patrol the rugged terrain of California 38.

It was on that highway that the officers first encountered Dorner fleeing in a stolen car, engaging the fugitive in a white-knuckle chase in which the ex-cop commandeered two different vehicles, authorities said. The pursuit culminated in what officials described as a wild shootout between Dorner and a state game warden.

The actions by alert wildlife officers may have set in motion Dorner’s last stand -- in a snowbound cabin, surrounded by police. The cabin burned to the ground, and authorities believe Dorner was inside.

  • They burned him alive. They shot teargas into the building.

Anybody who knows about teargas knows there is a high chance it will cause a fire - especially in an 85 year old wooden cabin.

They DID NOT WANT TO TAKE HIM IN ALIVE. They didn't want him in court talking about the corruption of the LAPD.

They didn't want the story to go on for several years while the trial went on.

They wanted to bury him and the truth about the blue wall of silence where good cops DON'T talk about the cr More..

    • @Perfectchi They demanded the helicopters back because in his manifesto he claimed to have had Surface to Air missles. "STA". The corruption he "exposed" is well known and has been since the Rodney King beatings. This was a man who lost his job and went postal. A manifesto claiming the LAPD is corrupt and thats why you need to kill people is not a common sense approach to things. You cannot kill people because you're mad about things. It's that simple.

    • @Mariner1 There have been MANY cases since Waco where teargas has started fires.

Police find that fire is a very effective tactical weapon to end a standoff.

And although I believe it was before Waco, a famous example is where the cops burned down an entire block of houses to root out a group called MOVE. (although that fire might have been caused by the BOMB that the cops dropped from a helicopter on top of their house.)

I don't really care who was the suspect inside, but sounds like strange tactic for a civilized country.

It didn't happen. This is bullshit. He likely said "berm." The cops were transmitting over the pubic radio waves and they had reporters nearby listening on scanners. The LAPD SWAT is famous across the country for waiting until barricaded suspects give themselves up. The idea that the LAPD and LA Country Sheriff Department SWAT would openly say over the radio, "Let's burn him" is ludicrous. The LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and Sheriff Lee Baca are infamously risk averse. More..

    • @Gorilla We have different tactics here, but I guess if that is legal in US, please go ahead. Basicly he was alone in a cabin and not an immideate threat to anyone, keeping him surrounded until hhe makes his next move, would have eventually done the trick.

"Excuse me my stupidity, but is burning a house down a valid police tactic to apprehend a suspect?"
-It's not, plain and simple. But we are becoming a totalitarian type of society.
-Take for instance the fact that we had two women (47 & 71) who were out delivering newspapers shot by police simply because their truck looked similar to Dorners.
-Their truck was literally riddled with dozens of bullet holes on a public street and it has garnered barely a peep out of the More..

  • I don't know why anyone takes the Dorner "supporters" seriously. They are a bunch of teenage neckbeards who play x-box all day and are angry at the world because they can't get laid. Not worth your attention. Dorner was a nutjob. Of course there is corruption and racism in the LAPD. How does that justify murder of officers, let alone the murder of innocent civilians that have no control of the LAPD. It doesn't matter if Dorner considered himself at war with the police, he killed a Capt More..

    • @Maxmon How do Dorner's crimes justify the police randomly shooting at innocent civilians?

      Posted Feb-13-2013 By

    • @Jmills That has nothing to do with anything I just wrote. My point is that there was nothing justifiable with regard to Dorner's actions. The cops who shot those women were ridiculously inept and should be fired. That doesn't take away from my original point. Learn to logic.

They mistakenly thought the pickup truck was Dorners. That is not random. They themselves admit it was a terrible mistake. Dorner never once said his shootings were a mistake. God, you are stupid.

So if you hate law enforcement, then you've actually hate being arrested and thrown in jail for doing bad things. That's YOUR fault, not the police. It is a sad day in a democratic society when we don't question the authority and take everything sitting down.

Also, the man MURDERED 4 people, 2 of which were innocent and completely un-involved, and he was firing at a wave of cops.... what are they supposed to do? Coax him out with hugs of happiness. The fucker deserved to fry.
