  • Romney. Total domination even when Lehrer tried to call him on something once and gave Obama more time a couple times.

Even the liberal media hacks saw it. Anybody who thinks Obama somehow won that debate should have his his head examined.

  • Romney owned Obama during the entire debate and after it was over, sold Obama as scrap waste.

I tell ya, it was a tough night for the big O. Got F'd in the A twice. First in front of tens of millions on tv then again by Mooch at home on their anniversary.

The President finally found somebody willing to disagree with him to his face and the fantasy of "supertalker" was gone in an instant.

    • @john1054 Talking shit and spewing false information has been brought to you by the Party that took away Fairness Doctrine. If talking back at someone and disagreeing with them is how you think debates are won you are more delusional then you think, better go eat some of that "clean" coal of yours.

  • it doesn't matter who wins the debate......we the voter, citizen and public will always loose, you muppets keep listening to the men behind the curtain telling you what you should be worrying about then take a look at how much of your federal income tax goes to the middle east.........just a giant bullshit storm full of lies and confusion and evasion of the real problem; a war we can never win that will destroy our economy if we let it......just ask the Russians.

And your solution is what, 420?

      Posted Oct-4-2012 By

    • @fern420

You are wrong it DID already destroy your economy, together with that 'self destroying way of life' (fatness related medicare is causing more financial troubles in the US than any of the wars you fight at the moment)

The solution of just printing some extra money will stop soon enough also. So yes, America, sorry I mean the US will have some major problems ahead.

    • @GraveMatter-

get the fuck out of the middle east and keep our noses in our own business and stop trying to help people that do not want our help. D

more people murdered each day on the streets of Detroit than Afghanistan.......yet no one seems to give a shit....just sayin....we could fix that shit in a week if we stopped spending 6 billion dollars a day on a lost cause and a people who hate our fuking gutz.....we should fix our own fuked up country before we go giving away tax payer dollars More..

  • Here's my conservative standpoint: Mitt would be Obama-lite. We'll still be going down the same road, but just a tad slower.

I think the basic difference is, Under Obama as oppression continues, he will push to restrict firearms (which he had to shelve because of Fast & Furious) and Romney won't. Romney seems satisfied with the increased Fed spending from 20% to 26% of GDP under Obama. Romney seems satisfied with the level of taxation, but supposedly wants less redistribution via tax deductions and credits. But I don't think Romney holds a principled difference on the intrusion of gov't into personal More..

    • @Yukon6400

One thing I admire is that Romney actually sat down for an interview with Chris Cox of the NRA-ILA, something Obama would NEVER do. Chris grilled him about the 2nd and Romney is convincingly pro 2nd A for the right reasons. I read about the gun legislature that Mitt passed in Mass. and he simply 'held to his guns' but in a bi-partisan spirit compromised with lefties for some gun control items written into the bill. So where lefties are saying Mitt will implement gun control, they a More..

  • Even on Yahoo, a site that reeks of Liberalism, the top story this morning had the following statement - "Even on the most basic political points, Jeff Greenfield says, Obama seemed clueless."

That about summed the whole debate up.

  • Both candidates did pretty well. It was a fairly boring woknfest... but at least we got a little more specificity from Romney.

The notion that Romney somehow won the debate by virtue of the fact that he didn't shit himself on stage is a bit much.

    • @EventHorizon2012 you have your third party candidate now..he`s back to the center again..the right winger of the primaries is all but gone.
as gore vidal made it clear, the potus is a figurehead, the u.s is run from corporate boardrooms, this theater plays to the citizenry like penny novels to 19th century plebes.

A perfect conclusion Dude. Romney did make a much fresher appearance to me, looked like Obama had some very tired days behind him (well, with all the shit in the middle east it's also no wonder...)

In someway Romney reminded me of the guy who is selling those 'unbelievable low' mortgages at the bank and Obama the one who is tired of it of warning to not step in it.

Thumbed you up EH regardless of your condescending remarks about Romney. Looked to me like Obama DID shit himself. Was the FIRST time in over 4 years the dude was challenged on HIS bullsheite! Was refreshing to me and very sorely needed.

    • @boomersooner

Thanks boomer, thumbed you up too... but the condescension wasn't really aimed at Romney.... more at those who think that it was some colossal debate win because he finally managed to put together some sentences without saying something awkward.

Kind of like saying I won a gunfight because I managed not to shoot myself.

In all fairness, I think Romney had a few times where he made good points that Obama had no response to, and I would probably have to give him the edge in this More..

  • Socialism will never work. It is not programmed into human nature. We are a selfish species that only seeks for our own well-being. Most animals are the same nature. To think that government is above human nature is asinine.

  • Romney had no specifics, just tons of fluff. He is selling Bush 2.0 and he is a good salesman but if you listened to the words and the thought that went into them, Obama made better and more thoughtful points. But yeah, Romney talked over Obama a few times, seemed more energetic and basically dominated the moderator so he won in the "presence" department but lost in the "idea" department.

More military spending, more tax breaks for the megarich all at the cost of educati More..

    • @BloodyStars

sadly true. There were so many opportunities for Obama to pounce on or zing Romney. Off the top of my head, when Romney said "your money is where your heart is", Obama should've countered with "so why are you running for President of the US and not Switzerland?"

When Romney talked about subsidies for green energy, Obama should've owned it. It makes sense that new energy technology would require govt. subsidization whereas there is no argument for why major oi More..

    • @nkdmansam Wasn't himself, in all honesty he looked like he was thinking about something else. But I think no matter what he would have lost this round the economy was bound to be a losing topic but he definitely could have done some damage control. I think he missed his opportunity when Mitt started talking about how much good private insurances do, when all evidence points to how greedy they become.
