Words for Battle

A Ministry of Information film dated from the early 1940's.

Laurence Olivier reads a series of self congratulatory words from famous word-smiths of old - designed to give the 'plucky Brits' a fillip during the early dark days of the blitz when the UK's previous promises to defend other countries aka France and Poland were being called to honour .. the country nearly went bankrupt as a result and so had to turn to mass-immigration (amongst other measures)after the war which has had a dramatic effect upon the social fabric of the United Kingdom.

The idyl no longer exists.
