The tanks are probably being moved due to:
1. - Preparations for the Kavkaz-2012 military exercises between Russia, Armenia, and probably other members of CSTO (military component of the CIS (certain ex-soviet countries still on friendly terms))
2. - Having to beef up the presence in the Russian military base in Armenia (due to increasing hostilities between Azerbaijan and Armenians)
3. - There's a massive rearmament and modernization program being done in the Russian armed forces. More..
