America's Secret War With Iran part 2
Is the US already at war with Iran? In "America's Secret War", Vanguard correspondent Mariana van Zeller travels to the Iraq-Iran border to investigate claims that the United States is supporting militant groups that are attacking Iran. In the rugged Qandil mountains, she meets with up with anti-Iranian guerillas who have been launching deadly raids against the Islamic Republic. A good percentage of the fighters are women, and Mariana accompanies a small group of them through what many believe has become the frontline of the US's secret war with Iran.

It's always funny that. Like when you used to see Fatah carrying Galils and M16s during the clashes with Hamas - a bit too obvious you'd think, but unmistakable

Yea because Iranian-American relations started following 2003 didn't they? Educate yourself. Look at the Iran-Iraq war as an example, but of course it started before that. Saddam was supported by the CIA in coming to power, and was co-opted into invading Iran in 1980 following the 1979 revolution. Slate wikipedia if you want but it's main contributors are academics and the sources are legitimate.

Its just one-sided chap. Of course they supported insurgents, why the fuck wouldn't they?! You (and we) supported Saddam against them in 1980, and now you (and we) are fucking about on their border and have installed a pro-Western government. Why on earth wouldn't they want to take a reactive or even pro-active approach to that? Bloody ignorant.

Iran has supported proxy attacks against U.S. troops since their Revolution, with the single, most deadly example being the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing. It's about time the U.S. returns the favor.

Damn, your collective memory lasts about as long as the interlude between commercials.
Take a step further back and you'll see Iran has been raped and abused by the UK and US since before WWI, they've every reason to want western influences out of their country.
Ask yourself: When's the last time an Iran invaded a sovereign state in an offensive war?
Then ask yourself: When's the last time the gangsters in the Pentagon and the White House launched an illegal war w More..

A good friend of mine who is Iranian and in his 70's would contradict those assumptions Michael.
He and many Iranians describe the best times they had were when they were part of the British Empire. Things worked, water, sewerage, no food shortages etc.
Even with the Revolution, the initial negotiations outside with Khomeni were favourable. Things soured when they used westerners as bargaining chips.
Since then Iranian troops under the guise of Quds Force, Ansar al Mahdi etc etc More..

I've worked with several Iranians in their 40's and 50's and they say things aren't as bad as America's media paints them and no one in Iran wants a war with the US.
Especially not the Iranian generals and military, they KNOW the US will strip them of their power and bomb them back into the stone age and rob them of their resources, as they did to Iraq.
America and Britain are the aggressors here, not Iran.

Unfortunately religious lunatics are in control of everything in Iran. All you have to do is watch the trash propoganda press TV spouts out in the name of the regime.
To be honest from across in the UK, no one is interested in war with Iran. I think following Iraq public opinion is so great in the UK it would be hard to support any action against Iran.
It is standard practice for Iran to blame Israel, USA, and the UK. There are many more countries who are not so keen on Irans rev More..

Iran's current anti-western government took power because of the CIA's help in ousting Mossadeqh. This coup led to the pro-western Shah taking power. The shah did not nationalize their oil industry as Mossadeqh wanted to do. The shah was very oppressive towards his people. This led to the Islamic revolution and the ayatollah's coming to power. This is America's fault, but we must fix our mistake, the people of Iran are perfectly willing and able to run their country on their own. They want this, More..
