I didn't think Amish were allowed to be photographed or filmed.

@MoonBug The old school Amish ways I don't think you're supposed to be but I believe the Mennonites are a little bit more lenient about that and using electricity.

Certainly gives you far more time to admire the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Pretty cool vid and perhaps William can answer a question for me. I've always wondered and never asked,but do the Amish allow hunting on their land? We have some Amish near here that have huge tracts and I always wanted to ask permission but I was always afraid I would offend them.

@gonehuntin
Actually, that topic is covered on their FAQ page at AmishFolks.org

@gonehuntin The Amish hunt just as much as we do, probably even more. I too live and work with the Amish, and you wouldn't be offending them if you ask.

Right after this was filmed he was killed in a diabolical Amish ritual for allowing the outsider to capture his image in that "new fangled picture box"

Amish are good folks. Very good carpenters as well, Amish built cabinets are something of a luxury item.

If only the entire chinese population lived like the Amish... they wouldn't be such a drain on the planet.

would have never thought they would be using those moderns suspension and brakes on those. dash with switches and gauges too? wow! the clip-clop would get really old after a while, but pretty cool to get more perspective on Amish carriages.

Riding along at approx. 12 MPH. You can certainly drink in the scenery at that pace. Not sure if he said it in the video, but the traditional buggies here in PA cost about $8000; a good driving horse about $2000.
