Building Railway Motor Carriages

Construction of an Express Electric Motor Coach, Under-frame and Bogies at the Lancing Works. 5 minute clip of workmen and old craftsmen hand making a 35 ton railway motor carriage. It's a silent film and I'm not sure of the date but they began building these in1937, it's possibly before the war because the factory went over to war production, so it's about 1938. The Lancing Works in Brighton turned out hundreds of railway carriages and engines for many decades and provided employment for thousands of people.

Note; 5+mins of old industrial rail related film which doesn't even have audio, if you don't fancy it after a few seconds you are well advised to perhaps leave this one, however for admirers of the genre have a look at this..
