  • This is the nasty side of war.
I praise Simon for his courage and resilience.

We must all remember that there is a human side to war.

Rest in peace those 48 that lost their lives.

  • Simon Weston is a great bloke. Since being wounded in the Falklands he has been heavily involved in charity work and has helped countless injured servicemen come to terms with their wounds, an example to us all.

  • Weston has met and become friends with the Argentine pilot who dropped the bomb which caused his injuries.

He was criticized for this move by families of those who fought in the Falklands War, which he simply dismissed, saying "I don't have a problem with other people criticising me for things I do, as long as people understand why I did them.

Then I don't have a problem to walk away and say 'you're entitled to your opinions'.

  • Sry but cant say i care. you wanted to risk life and limb for an area that was only your from colonization. War is a mans "game" with real consequences. Can't go around making sob stoires for the brit, since you know the same happened to the Argentinians.

  • He, and the many more boys that were killed and injured defending the Falklands in the 1980's, are the reason that the British government won't have talks with Argentina about the Islands sovereignty. Any UK government that turned their back on the memory of these boys would be unlikely to ever get voted in back in to power again, at least in my lifetime. If it wasn't for them I would say give the islands to Argentina. If the islanders are determined to be British there are vast swathes of Scotl More..

  • Whenever he feels down, Simon looks at pictures of Carlos Tevez to console himself.
