Kool, so when are the suppressors available to the public? Are suppressors legal/illegal across the country? certain states?

On a more serious note, how accurate would it be with a suppressor?.

Right now depending on your state. You just have to pay the big tax stamp fee.
And yeah, not available legally in CA.

BTW, as far as the "not like the movies" thing,a lot of the noise is sonic crack. M4's shoot a HIGH velocity cartridge.
look at the difference it makes if you shoot a subsonic bullet. And this is .308 (EVEN LOUDER THAN M4)

Silencers will not stop the crack of a bullet breaking the sound barrier. Silencers assist in controlling the sound of the expanding gasses (also faster than the speed of sound) escaping the barrel of the weapon.

Unless the ammo is sub-sonic. ie ACP .45. you use sub-sonic rounds and pretty much all you hear is the slide on you pistol or bolt and gas system on rifles.

If the rifle is shooting bullets at over around 1,100 to 1,200 feet per second a silencer does not do a thing for the sonic boom of the bullet. So even if it suppresses the gun the bullets are still loud as hell.

It's even quieter when fired by a librarian, the original noise suppressor.

Personally, I think lubrication is always best, whether natural or manually applied. Going dry hurts pretty quickly.

i love the fact that complete dipshits give you a thumbs down for your comment. Plainly they do not understand sound reduction with sub-sonic ammo.

On an M4 it won't cycle properly with subsonic ammo.
That's the only reason I can think of.

I really don't like short barreled carbines. It's a major fad that's being going on in the military and law enforcement, but also among civilians. Some of them look and handle pretty sweet but when you have a 10 inch barrel instead of a 16, 18, or 20 inch barrel you lose a lot of projectile velocity. Your rifle is now a flashy novelty instead of a real weapon.
People will say it's better for close quarters, but that lost velocity means less wounding power. The 5.56 round fragments at high velo More..

To hear the author again he said CQB or close quarter battle. This simply means house to house or in confined areas, not sniper style.

I was always recommended to stick with 16 inches, any shorter isn't worth the tax stamp anyway.
I have a Gemtech Supressor on my Noveske AR, pretty much just to be able to shoot it indoors without losing my hearing.

Still better balistics results over the .9mm (as in the MP5).
The BEST CQB weapon for indoors use (IMHO) would be a Super Kriss V, .45.

M4's are LOUD!!!!
The one in this vid is even louder because it's only 10.3" barrel. CRAZY LOUD! If you shoot it without earplugs you will damage your ears. GUARANTEED!
Suppressors might not be like in james bond movies, but they work well enough that you can shoot without hearing protection if you have to.
Also the neighbors won't be so pissed ;)

I think i damaged my ears the last time my buddy invited me to the range. My left ear has been ringing for over a year now. We only used industrial type earplugs. Fired rifles and handguns. Very annoying! I wonder if its ever gonna go away?

NO SHIT!
In the movies allmost everything is done wrong. Which is incredible. And funny enough, has anybody seen a good war movie lately? No, because everybody now can see the real deal shit on the net. And can see the fake bullshit hollywood had been spouting out for years.
Aim the fucking gun, reload the fucking mag, keep the fucking finger off the trigger... etc and most of all explosions kick up shit loads of dirt and debris and shit and not huuuge ass fire More..
