British swimmer Jemma Lowe went into her final in the outside lane. Having said that was the lane she wanted for the final the commentators were congratulating her on swimming a semi final time that was slow enough to get the lane she wanted. I'm not entirely sure how this is much different. I think the format of the competition is as much to blame as the atheletes
