As tough as it may be having to break up a fight between two giants on skates, I still say that the
toughest sport to officiate is soccer. After all, soccer players tend to be
loose canons at times, and you never really know what they are going to do. One
second they are rolling around on the floor in pain. The next second they are
chasing you around the field, or punching you in the face.
The referee in the video below was a victim of the
latter. And I must admit, in a sport where players are accustomed to hitting the deck following the slightest bit of contact, this
referee took his shot to the face quite well.
