Hockey player fails after scoring

You won’t see Alexander Ovechkin celebrating goals by jumping into
the glass any time soon. But just because the big boys won’t be
celebrating goals doesn’t mean that there won’t be NHL-like celebrations
going around the lower level leagues. Ovechkin has popularized the
“leaping-into-the-glass” celebration and has been doing it for years. Taylor Cox of the New Jersey Junior Titans tried the leap on for size and came out on the short-end.
Cox scored against the New Jersey Rockets in an Atlantic Junior
Hockey League game over the weekend. In the midst of his “look-at-me”
moment, he quickly learned that the AJHL doesn’t use the same quality
glass that Ovechkin and other NHLers are accustomed to.
The result: a bruised ego and an instant by Text-Enhance">internet
sensation. I’m hoping the NHL owners and players’ association close
the gap soon, but if amateur leagues are going to keep providing clips
like this, my feelings might start to differ.
