5 Judges Assassinate America's Liberty!

Most telling in the ObamaCare decision is Justice Roberts reasoning he wrote in the majority decision of the "individual mandate requiring people to have health insurance is valid as a tax, even though it is impermissible under the Constitution's commerce clause."

It's working VERY well for the good citizens of Massachusetts. Isn't that all that REALLY matters. Hardly any choose to pay the penalty tax; they buy the insurance like someone who's acting responsibly (and not free-riding). lol

  • I know a person with a handicapped son -- the kid is literally bedridden. You can't tell me they don't qualify for some form of federal aid or credit.

    Yet THEY are against Obamacare.

People are just fucking stupid. What are you gonna do. You can't fix stupid.

    • @Saros You are right you can't fix stupid. All you people that think the government solves thing are stupid. My son had a car accident had insurance but it ran out, he has TBI Traumatic Brain Injury, for two years we have had no help to speak of, because he paid into medicare he had to wait 2 years to receive help. Now if he had not paid into medicare he would of received help on the spot. This is why we do not want Obama care, all the government knows how to do is fuck things up.

    • @big_tex So basically if he had no insurance or medicare he would have had help on the spot?

How so? Because the hospital would have helped him without charge? Paid by what, the taxpayers?

    • @Saros Are you from the states? Mexicans do it all the time. In certain states it's the law to help someone who is ill even if they don't have the funds.

And yes, it does become a tax payer problem.

  • This is precious. The right wing is going insane. Fox Nation, LL, Breitbart, all lit up with screaming STUPID conservatives convinced the nation is about to explode in flames.

Your idiotic, spastic reaction to this will help Obama in November, so thank you!

Man, I can't wait until Obama wins (and he will) - this place will be lit up like a redneck lunatic asylum, and I will be here to laugh and laugh and laugh at your powerless, pitiful curses and screams, and urinate on your outraged faces.

  • I laugh at all you Americans complaining what will essentially be free healthcare - when you get cancer will you still complain about the free treatment ? - healthcare in Australia is essentially free through taxes paid and everyone get treatment when needed.

    • @azumakun this is NOT australia , get that through your head, we have different population demographics(financially), an open border policy apparently, and an educational system that is a joke..and that's just a few, so stop comparing apples to oranges.

    • @MrScabs You don't know anything about US ..there are plenty of programs for the poor, and if they don't in one state, they have 49 others to make it work for themselves or to get help. So I really don't know what you mean by "providing very little for the poor" but my guess it's one of those "don't know shit comments"

      Posted Jul-2-2012 By

      (-1)

    • @MrScabs In this matter, yes. We (American's) are a selfish lot. Some could care less if we have affordable health care. And it's nearly impossible to convince anybody that paying a little in taxes is a whole lot better than paying a bunch in insurance premiums, not only pocketing the lining of those huge corporations, but driving up the cost of services. I would much rather pay an additional $500 a year in taxes than $600 a month for insurance that will just line someone's pockets.

  • This was not a decision of five justices.

The four conservatives did not get what they wanted: Obamacare thrown out in its entirety.

The four liberals did not get what *they* wanted: Obamacare fully empowered by a loose-cannon Commerce Clause.

The only justice who got what she or he wanted was Roberts: A vast and unprecedented expansion of the power of the U.S. government to tax... anything you don't do.

    This was a one-man opinion.

You might call it jurisprudence. I call it a preamble to ty More..

    • @cdlcrash
You tell me. Uber-justice Roberts says the penalty is a tax. Obama is *still* insisting it is not. Romney's campaign advisors can't seem to make up their minds.

This was a bizarro decision. Never has a tax been imposed as a penalty, nor a penalty imposed as a tax. It is a firm legal principle that dates from the early 19th century.

The Supreme Court now defines the Obamacare penalties as a tax. But Obamacare was written (and is still written) as a regulation enforced by penalties--pe More..

I dont think so, I just dont believe in coincidences. In fact it is disgusting how obvious and wrong this whole affair was.
