"Boston Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting by one of their own officers.

Tuesday night in the south end, an officer shot and killed a man who police say threatened the officer with a gun.

A day later, Boston police have yet to say anything further about their investigation, what led up to the traffic stop or the chase that ensued.

We are hearing from the suspect’s friends, however, and they say they cannot believe what happened.

Friends and family confirm 26-year-old Burrell White-Ramsey was gunned down on Yarmouth Street by Boston Police in the city’s south end around 6 p.m.

Police say he led them on a brief car chase, then a foot chase, which ultimately resulted, police say, in the suspect allegedly pointing a gun at officers.

Boston Police say the suspect was shot once in the chest and died at Boston Medical Center.

Friends of Ramsey stood in the neighborhood they all grew up in in disbelief. They say the person they knew wouldn’t have been involved in a situation like Tuesday’s.

Surveillance video of what happened is available; however, Boston Police haven’t said whether or not they will make that available."
