Someone in Damascus told me Damascus city itself is very safe. Aside from constant mortars from El Ghotua your chances of being caught up in one of those is minimal but no point in saying that if you end up getting hit right :) i dont know where he lives, maybe in Mezzeh.
The last car bomb was the one on syria tv which was like a year ago i think. Not bad considering Baghdad's rate of car bombs is through the roof.
Like you say West Damascus is safer. One person told me to explore going through Turkey to Kassab (back under regime control) and maybe just stay in Latakia which is very stable. I study international relations and already decided my 10,000 word essay's gonna be on syria, with iraq and ISIS maybe as the the main focus. It's hilarious as everyones aware of my position on what's happening which just makes me more inclined to put out everything i have in my head, even if it borders on conspiracy-tard i'm not dissuaded one bit to say what i think.
@Rovex I remember seeing that tv,the satisfaction was immense. The Zionists-having the most powerful military in the region and one of the most powerful in the world yet insecure about recognition as they know their state is an illegitimate bastard.
Thank you for sharing nonetheless, always good to see.
