I was in the USAF stationed in England, and I saw that church at the start of the vid, and thought it looked familiar, and it is! It is a church right outside the perimeter of RAF Lakenheath. The vid said East Anglia, and that's where I was stationed. That old church is STILL there, today. I too have my Dad's captain's bars, but he was an F-100 fighter pilot stationed in Germany. I gravitate towards people who I have a lot in common with, and it's no surprise you're one of them. I'm sorry about your Father. May he rest in peace.

@Jonesy Thank you very much for your kind words and compliments. Unfortunately, my dad died a number of years ago. During the time that he was a live and putting with his four sons raising hell, he never did talk about the war much, though I do remember him sitting in his easy chair making this motion with his hand as if recalling his sweeping out of formation once his crew had dropped their payload.
I still have his old bombing records for each mission, which lists the target, tonnage and general conditions including intensity of flak.
I use to have his flight jacket, but gave that to my nephew as I think my dad would have wanted me to. But I still have his Capt's bars, wings and the 8th Airforce patch that was on his jacket which I have tucked into my wallet and carry with me everywhere.
Mike, LOVED the B-17 vid, and I had no idea your Dad was a B-17 pilot. I worship him, already! At 6 years old, the B-17 fascinated me, and as a kid, all I ever wanted to be was a B-17 crew member, no matter what station. I hope he is still around, and in good health! You're awesome, bro!
