I understand completely Chief (and yes I did the same), though I post to YT more than LL now. You can always drop me a line there https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMBmR9sEDvixGJm-jZQvCaA?
Glad to hear all is well with the Family. Just bought our daughter her first car, Audi A3, she's in heaven to say the least.
You have all my info so don't hesitate to drop me a line. Excelsior!
Hi Irishman. A couple of years ago I realized that I needed to take a break. It's been good, Irishman. Having a son in war and everything we went through as a result impacted me in ways I never expected, and really, it was what led me to join LL back in 2007 because I wanted to be a voice of support to our troops and stick up for them. I don't regret doing it, but I reached a point where I realized that I needed to sort of let it go into the past as much as that is possible. It will always be with me and with all of my family, but you just can't let it take you over forever, and I had to admit to myself that I was spending an unhealthy amount of time on the internet. There were times when I thought about clicking the Delete Account button, but I just decided to sort of drop out for a while instead. Did you also take a break from it for a while?
I still work full time. I wish I could retire!! My husband works about 2/3 time, and we are financially helping my daughter build her future. (She's kind of a late bloomer as far as being responsible.) But it's happening now finally. My son and his family are doing great. He is still in the business of defending our country, and he was deployed overseas for 5 months this past year, supporting that effort. I just adore the 3 grandchildren he and our daughter-in-law have given us! We are far apart - opposite sides of the country - but we are able to get together fairly often, and there is always FaceTime too.
I still scan over LL from time to time. I probably haven't looked at my home page in a month, but I did today and saw your message. You are one of my good friends on the site, and it reminded me that I too do miss certain people.
I hope all is well with you and Mrs Irishman and your family ... and your cute little dog too :-) I really want a dog again, but I'm waiting until I can retire so I don't have to leave it home alone all the time.
Thank you for stopping by, Irishman, and checking up.
I POSTED THIS UNDER THE STAFF BLOG "THUMBS!"
"In 10 years I never heard one complaint from any leaker about the Thumbs Up or Down option being a problem. It was a powerful, simplistic, free speech communication tool. But obviously you and your minions fragile ego's received one down thumb too many, and made pulling the (Down Thumb) plug a #1 priority. Now the community consensus pretty much just hit's the block button on those offending members. I don't suppose it might have occurred to you dwankies, that if you felt so strongly about this issue, you could have let the L.L. Community vote on whether they wanted the Down Thumb option removed. Rather than your inner minority deciding arbitrarily for the rest of us. Just when one couldn't imagine the definition of (Pathetic) ever being exceeded, LL raises the bar."
Please visit the Staff Blog "THUMBS!" and THUMB MY POST there UP! I would like to say you have the option to Thumb it down, but you don't. :)
