Screwdriver Bandit - caught on camera

Raw video of guy robbing a gas station in London Ontario,

Despite the use of a police tracking dog, London police were unable to apprehend the suspect who robbed a Sunoco gas station early Monday (Dec. 24), armed with a large screwdriver.

The robbery, however, was captured on video, and police are hoping the public can help identify the suspect.

Police responded to a report of a robbery at a Hamilton Road Sunoco gas station at around 12:15 a.m.

The lone male clerk at the gas station told police a male suspect entered the gas bar, requested cigarettes, and as the clerk was retrieving the requested product the suspect brandished a large screwdriver and demanded cash from the register.

The suspect threatened the clerk, who was not injured during the robbery, then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police employed the use of a K9 tracking dog, but were unable to locate the suspect.
