The photograph that made the world weep

A friend sent me an email that contained a haunting photo. I wept too, and I couldn't help but make this video which displays that very photograph in a very slow motion fashion in an attempt to, perhaps, "force" the viewer to think about the shocking story behind it... for at least the length of the video.

There are people in this world who eat to live, and people who live to eat. Worse, there are those who die simply because they have absolutely no food to eat.

People lucky enough to afford food complain about it and waste astonishing amounts of it daily.

Watch and think.

Kevin Carter suffered from depression: he had seen too much in his very short photojournalistic career. A portion of his suicide note read:

"I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain ... of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners...I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky."
