Albuquerque Police Officer Accused Of Abuse

Albuquerque police have launched an internal investigation after seeing a video shows an officer punching a detainee.

Officials said they still have to look at lapel camera footage and interview other officers and witnesses at the scene.

According to the video, Albuquerque police officer Andrew Hsu is shown punching and trying to detain Jayson Bernard.

A bystander caught cellphone video when a fight broke out on Albuquerque's Central Avenue Friday night.

Bernard said he wasn't part of the fight and only approached the officer after the officer grabbed his girlfriend.

Hsu can be heard cursing at Bernard in the video.

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry recently announced changes to the city's police disciplinary review process.
