Life-like android robots went on display at a new exhibition called "Android: What is Human?" at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo on Wednesday.

Two of the realistic humanoid robots that went on display resembled real-life adult females, one named Otonaroid and the other Kodomoroid. Both have been praised for their ultra-realistic aesthetics.

The process of creating the electronic human replicas requires taking a full body cast of a human model with plaster, and then creating the robots 'skin' using a unique form of silicone that resembles human skin.
