Police in Duisburg, Germany remove Israeli Flag during a protest on January 11, 2009

During a protest march agaings the war in Gaza, police officers smashed the door of a private appartment and removed an Israeli flag that was displayed in one of the windows, after protesters had thrown snow balls and "other objects" in direction of the window.

A speaker for the Duisburg police department defended the action, stating that the display of the Israeli flag was "merely a provocation", and police had to act in order to prevent a turmoil.

You can wonder if those police officers ever heard of civil rights guaranteed in the German constitution, like the right to state ones opinion (Article 4) or the privacy of the home (Article 13).
