Hoax Nuke Blast seen on TV

This footage of the telltale mushroom cloud of an atomic explosion sent shock waves though television viewers in the Czech Republic.

The image of the unthinkable emerged on their screens in a weather report showing a live shot of a national beauty spot.

The hoax footage was spliced in by a group of artists called the Ztohoven Collective.

They say the stunt was intended to highlight the possibilities of media manipulation, not to alarm or panic anyone.

Czech authorities don't see it that way.

They're prosecuting six members of the collective on charges of spreading false information.

They face up to three years in jail if convicted.
