In Kobane, Kurds are defeating Islamic State: 70% of the city now under Kurdish control

Kurds are coming: 70% Kobane - now under their control
Kurdish militia regained control about 70 percent of the city of Kobani, located near the border with Turkey.

As reported by the Associated Press, citing data from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, fierce fighting continued in the last two days in residential areas in the south of Kobani.

Now Kurdish militias control southern and central parts of the city, as well as most neighborhoods in the west.

Rami Abdulrahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, stressed: an important role in the occurrence of the Kurds played by the fact that the United States formed an international coalition which deals air strikes against Islamist militants.

"Every day, air strikes destroy the terrorist infrastructure of Islamic State", - said Abdurahman.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, if the Kurds will be able to go on the offensive, the city of Kobani will come under their full control.
