Male Lion calling its brothers

One of the Selati male lion coalition calling to his brothers.

The ability to roar is unique to the big cats of the genus Panthera, the
other members of the genus are the tiger, leopard and jaguar.

The roar of a lion can be heard for many miles and is used as a way of letting
rivals know the territory is occupied. The roar is also a way of
communicating with members of his own pride and reassures females that
the territory is safe. Lions are able to pinpoint the location of a roar
very accurately and will be able to locate one another by roaring.

Filmed at Idube Game Reserve in South Africa.
