"Why is there iron in this cereal?"
The manufacturer doesn't lube the machinery correctly...
A monkey can type? Amazing!
I'm very sorry, I forgot to add *humour* at the end of the comment. You see, most people on here got that (you can tell by the comments), but I guess there are still some who need it spelt out for them. I'll keep you in mind the next time I post. Thanks for the heads-up... :D
Iron in food is not present in the form of clearly discernible metal filings.. its in compounds which are then broken down and absorbed by the human body.
This is a troll post.
@Baron_Kaz Nope, I have done this experiment myself. You can also pull flakes of the cereal around with a strong rare earth magnet.
No it is not:
@Baron_Kaz how those words taste
@Baron_Kaz It's easy to do this one at home. You can even extract massive strands of DNA from your own "fluids" using shampoo, salt, and alcohol, all things found at home. Home science is easy. Not a troll post, all I see is an uneducated reply. Good day :D
The iron is in there because it adds weight, thereby increasing the profit margin of the cereal company
@squidlipz lol...you're a mess
@squidlipz You're right... Grain is far more expensive compare to metal.
no wonder i'm having a hard time taking a shit, my plumbing is all rusted out inside.
@fairycake Cancer is the prize at the bottom of the box.
You need iron in your diet. Silly video.
High levels of iron prevents telekinesis, so you can't go evil villain on the world. Lol
Girls need it.
Why is there iron in cereal - Too make your shit brown....!
Looks like a colostomy bag
I know scrap prices are high but you aren't going to make much from that money spinning idea
The package may say that it contains the required amount of iron but is it in the form you can absorb or does it pass though undigested?
the body needs iron. why do you think blood has a metallic taste to it?
Yeah and now i have to eat Cereal prodige... thanx
A better way to get your iron is to just eat some vegetables, instead of iron filings.
Fun Fact - Beer contains all 13 essential nutrients for life.
probably to screw with anemics
i like the comments on this!! hahaha!! nice guys!
Almost all the cereals you find on grocery store shelves are fortified with iron. This means the manufacturers have added iron to the cereal, along with other vitamins, to increase its nutritional value. Product 19 and Total Cereal rank among the best cereal sources of iron. Can you simply eat one of these cereals if you're low on iron?
There are problems with the iron in fortified cereals that makes it a less than perfect More.. iron source........ Less..
@IHATEZIONS Yeah it doesn't mean that they add iron filings to it, idiot.
@ellhow Oops looks like I was wrong, they do put elemental iron in cereal.
@ellhow yes they do
@IHATEZIONS I'm not sure it deals with deficiency...
But if you eat total on a regular basis, then you are getting the daily amount I think and probably wouldn't be low on iron..
Iron is in vegetables too!!! Sun dried tomatoes, parsley and spinach are all good sources of iron..
Just ask Popeye the sailor
@XyBerFuNK of course it does but it is in molecule level, not large visible particals like these
The iron in cereal is nonheme iron, which is less well absorbed than iron that comes from animal sources. To increase iron absorption from cereal, eat foods or juice high in vitamin C at the same time as fortified cereals, because vitamin C aids iron absorption. Eating a heme source of iron at the same time also increases nonheme iron absorption.
