cops receive death threats after 105 metric tons of marijuana are seized in Tijuana

Municipal police officers have received death threats via the official radio frequency after they seized 105 (possibly 134) metric tons of marijuana in the city of Tijuana. Military officials have said they are ready for any retaliatory attack.

Officers encountered a convoy of suspicious vehicles and were shot at from those vehicles when they attempted to get closer along the Alamar creek. A total of 11 people were detained along with the cargo and the fleet of trucks used to transport it. One civilian and one officer were shot, the officer is in stable condition. The four trucks in the background were being used to haul the marijuana into the United States. The street value of the drug is said to be around 4.2 billion pesos (350 million dollars) for the aproximately 210 million doses.
