Here is Cliven Bundy’s Problem

Since this seems to be sticking around the media
I decided to educate myself on the Cliven Bundy case. Let's look at this thing
through non-politically charged Right/Left eyes, shall we? When you push aside
all of the distractions and the screamers on both the Right and the Left, it
all boils down to this:

Cliven Bundy does not recognize the Federal
Government, therefore, he doesn’t believe he has to abide by the laws laid down
by the Federal Government, thus he does not believe he is under their jurisdiction,
thus they have no right to impose limits or fees or fines upon what he deems
his right to grazing lands.

"I abide by all of Nevada state laws. But I don’t recognize
the United States government as even existing."

That's nice. It is also the basis for exis

  • A fairly reasonable synopsis of the legal facts but it TOTALLY omits any mention of the BIGGEST reasons why people were so upset with the Federal Gov't in the first place, its selective enforcement and heavy-handed treatment of an individual ranching family while corporations, bankers, billionaires and liberal collaborators who "play ball" with the gov't but who are exponentially worse for the American taxpayers get a pass. You also made no mention of why the BLM would SPEND MONEY to k More..

  • Hey, that is all good info. Here is a point though. Why did they come down on Bundy in such a militaristic fashion. Until the locals reacted, it did not appear that Bundy was harboring an army that required such an action. It looked almost as if the feds were trying to create another Ruby Ridge episode and hopefully not another Waco scenario. I think that is what pissed a lot of people off. I've read that much more potentially volatile situations get a, "It's a civil matter" from the f More..

  • Nevada voters will still re-elect Reid back to office,..
that alarms me the most about Nevada people,..
anything Bundy does is a drop in bucket compared to the whole State being stupid,
if that crook gets back in office,.,Nevada residences deserve anything that comes their way,.

    • @jpeterman57 and I have no beef with folks exercising their Constitutional rights to peacably assemble. I just din't like that as a businessman, I have to pay gubmint fees and abide by regs to stay in business, but Bundy doesn't have to if he doesn't want to? You can see how someone may see that as unfair, right?

  • First of all define Federal government!

1.) Bundy does recognize the Federal government , he pay's his taxes , different from fees!

2.)The current Federal government is illegitimate , they keep changing the rules , totally un American!

3.) We have a fraud squatting in the White House mandating Federal changes unconstitutionally through executive order.

I could go on and on , but the bottom line is this country has been took , and the new owners are trying to run Bundy out because the More..

  • Good talk, Bash.  I admit I haven't followed this very closely.  Does Bundy do all his business in cash?  That doesn't seem possible to me.  Wouldn't someone in the cattle business have to have a bank account?  If he owes grazing fees, why not just seize the fees from a bank account?  Or, couldn't the feds just place a lien on his property so that, when he dies, it can't be legally transferred to anyone until the fees are paid?  Have these things already been done or tried?

    Oh yeah, an More..

Yes the large majority of armed people that were there do fall under the category you described but not even close to all of them. The fact of the matter is people are fed up. Fed the fuck up. When enough people get fed up the rule of law no longer applies and we go back to the dark ages of might makes right. For people to simplify the armed respo More..

    • @NadeMagnet I hear that, but I do not believe that revolution need have any shots fired...it needs to be done the way our Founders intended, through the lawmaking and electoral processes. I understand people's frustration with the Feds, but the way to go about it is through the system. It may take time, and patience is needed, but violence is not going to do it. There is no good ending to that road at this point in our nation's history.

We were a state that use to make more money then the majority of countries on this planet. Literally. Now businesses that haven't gone under are leaving the state in droves. Why do you think that is? Then the man rose to most powerful position in the nation and still nothing changed. Those who sit back and wait for the United States injustice system to fix our problems are going to be waiting forever. If your political mainstream bullshit news stations spin it and sensationalize it, you can bet that it is either half truths & lies or something meant to keep your eyes trained while the "magic" happens elsewhere.

    • @Beefo Yeah, I brought up that aspect in the end. So it ain't wrong. I have been in business for over 20 years and have had to pay my share of govt fees and follow regulations and thousands of other people do the same, why should Bundy get a pass? That's my point, all the other Reid, BLM, China, and militia stuff is incidental to my point. Tell me, why should Bundy not have to pay fees like everybody else? Is he special? That's my point. The rest is political Left vs Right bullshit.

    • @Beefo If he has been paying state fees for the loast 20 years then that greatly diminishes my idea of him being a freeloader. But the whole BLM, former aide, Reid, China thing is so fishy. makes one think Harry reid is abusing his position, using political favors to profit for his family IF there is some way to grab the land Bundy has been using. Don't like that, or the Feds handling of the situation on the ground there at all.

  • It is impossible for an organized society to exist if people start choosing which part of the administration or laws they "recognize".

Only seriously ignorant people can believe such actions are somehow legal.

At the same time this senile cowboy can be seen on videoclips proudly waving the flag of the United States of America (i.e. the symbol of Federal goverment).
