The Islamic regime’s think-tank, in association with the Iranian intelligence service, has held the first in a series of meetings called “Free thinking and critical speech”. The objective was to discuss “conversion from Islam” and analyze why increasing numbers of Iranian youths convert to Christianity.

According to Mohabat News the regime-backed Sharq website reported that the meetings were to be called “Free thinking and critical speech” and would be held at the “Sarcheshmeh” (Martyrs of Islamic Revolution) Cultural Center. It was also announced that special guests from France and Italy would attend the first meeting.

According to regime, religious minorities and Iranian Christians were free to take part with no admission costs but had to sign up in advance due to the sensitivity of the issue and the limited number of seats.

Christianity is spreading rapidly in Iran and has become a major concern for the security organizations and Islamic clerics.

Crackdowns on churches and waves of arrest of Iranian pastors and Christian converts seem to have little impact and the number of Christian converts keeps growing.
