ISIS terrorists claimed to have sent reinforcements numbering two thousand to assault the positions of the SAA and NDF in Deir Ezzor.

The assault was reportedly spearheaded by SVBIEDs, and targeted the 137th Brigade's base, Al Bogelevyeh village along highway 4 and the Deir Ezzor airbase. There will likely be Russian airstrikes to support the surrounded Syrian forces.

If the number of reinforcements proves to be true, it could spell trouble for the beleaguered defenders. However, it should be noted that before these developments the SAA were gaining momentum in the area. At the time of writing, there was no indication that fighting had stopped, and is likely to be continuing throughout the day.

Casualties reported so far include at least 6 civilians killed by an ISIS mortar round (likely from a hell cannon) and Brigadier General Yassin Mahmoud Hamoud. Such an important loss could mean a decisive loss for the SAA, or perhaps their rallying call.
