Su-27 in action
Impressive looking aircraft
This is an impressive plane. It outperforms most western fighters with ease. Western fighters are supreme because of computerized systems and long range. You DONT want to dogfight a russian...
The last time a Russian was in a "dog fight" they ended up shooting down a civilian 747 aircraft killing 269 people. Korean Airlines flight 007. Before that you would have to go back to the Korean War when Russian pilots were flying missions for the North Koreans.
Just like Stingers, just like USA stingers in the hands or nomad people !
I remember that but there were american spyplanes in the area that just left
Where's the vodka stowage compartment?
i like the look of it.awesome piece of machinery.
it looks mean.
f16 target practice, lol
Maybe, but I wouldn't turn down a ride in a Flanker!
Looks impressive in the air but the dashboard looked very dated - analogue rather than digital. Which country has the blue and yellow flag that keeps appearing?
Russian Airforce http://flagspot.net/flags/ru%5Eaf.html
You can tell it's Russian from the "twin headed eagle" (Pheonix)...
Old technology, this is a trumped up stolen tech warbird from the Soviet era just before it went tits up.
F16 and F18 stuff, in old crap controls from the Soviet Union. In reality, the thing wouldn't last too long in an air to air battle now. Radar and advanced technology make it a "seen" aircraft and new air to air missiles would knock it out of the air long before it had a chance to see the American Raptor planes.
Good while it lasted by, that was then, this is now. Put it away boy More..s the parties over, start selling this old stuff to Chavez while the moron has the cash, and you've got the stuff to sell to a retard. Less..
At the rate these guy`s are going (and of course never forget the Americans) these things will be able to meet with the space station.
July 27, 2002: Sknyliv airshow disaster at Lviv, Ukraine - 85 spectators killed.
love that plane....the cobra move is awsome !!
think I can find one of these on e-bay??
Makes me sick of you people, Americans are trained for "pussy fight", not "Dog Fight" and all of your comments are suppose to be great ! Russian planes have HUDs too, and other modern technology like long range missiles. Do you know about new Russian long range missile with range of 350 Km ?? I think no...
This stuff is a stolen technology American combo airplane. The Soviet Union didn't make a stinking thing of their own. They stole everything. The former system of government didn't trust anyone, especially their science people. In all those years, or decades the Soviets screwed up more stuff, spying on their own people, instead of being creative and innovative. It was cheaper to steal, than to do R & D. Just look at all the stuff, other than AK47's that the Soviet Union made in airplane adva More..ncements, none. All air frames were stolen copies of other countries stuff. All they did was wrap stolen technology around Soviet junk controls.
They may have altered some aspects of other air frames but when you take a good look at their basic frame and the original frame it was stolen from its amazing.
so you must honestly think that in some parallel universe that some Russian air technology scientist made an exact copy of the American or British fighter air frames at the exact same moment in time. Then rolled it out for the world to see, wow amazing aircraft.
Then when you here from ex-russian airmen who have jumped ship and gotten out of your the military and gone some place to actual earn a living, they tell you of the short falls of the aircraft. Sure it has some good tricks, but, in the long run, its stolen technology. Less..
Stolen technology can be traced back to the end of WW 2 when the Russians took an American Boeing B-29 bomber that had been interned after an emergency landing Vladivostok and used it as a reverse engineering model to develop the TU-4 bomber. The Russians had a hard time replicating the advanced (at that time)engineering employed on the B-29. In appearance they were almost identical. Over 800 Tu-4 were produced.
Hehe, so you are not familiar with latest reports? 5th gen western fighters was totally smashed vs 4.5th gen eastern fighters. To quote the general witnessing the wargame/simulation : "Red Force dominated the exercise... it was like clubbing baby seals."
So much for the F22 and F35..
This report had alot of great conclusions and comments, like : "In addition to this rather blunt Red Force summation, the war gaming exercise demonstrated the JSF aircraft were next to useless whil More..e the Super Hornets of both Blue forces were seriously and significantly overmatched (a.k.a. 'useless').
"Hundreds of Blue Force aircraft were lost in the first twenty minutes."
RAND's report pretty much slaughtered theese planes, which is pretty sad, when you think of the violence and hard work americans have gone through to develop this shit.
They've even managed to force the JSF on Norway.. we're supposed to use this bombplane to intercept russians which are 900km/t FASTER.. lame Less..
Oh really! Here is what a RAND press release on 09/25/2008 stated. Source: www.rand.org/paf/
"Andrew Hoehn, Director of RAND Project Air Force, made the following statement today: "Recently, articles have appeared in the Australian press with assertions regarding a war game in which analysts from RAND were involved. Those reports are not accurate. RAND did not present any analysis at the war game relating to the performance of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, nor did the game attempt More..detailed adjudication of air-to-air combat. Neither the game nor the assessments by RAND in support of the game undertook any comparison of the fighting qualities of particular fighter aircraft."
You need to eject, you just got shot down in flames. Less..
Ye, that RAND-report-claim looks dodgy. I personally still belive the JSF is way overhyped as a A2A aircraft. It's "joint strike abilities" might be awesome, but the airperformance-data aint really top class. Im looking forward to some reports and simulators showing us how this would work irl, not on paper.
We cant really take what Loockheed says for granted either.
Agreed. When aircraft are closely matched in capabilities and performance it ultimately comes down to pilot skills and training. That split second decision making in an ultra-high speed combat environment that spells victory or defeat. That significant edge, however slight, in machine and pilot is key. Lets hope that it's all in a war-game, simulated scenario in the future.
