Superbowl Champion New Orleans Saints Lead NFL Merchandise Sales

The Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints had a breakthrough year both on the field and off in 2009-2010. For the first time in franchise history, they led the NFL in merchandise sales.

In fact, the Saints had never even ranked in the top 10 before their first Super Bowl season.
They beat out the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings in the total amount of licensed products sold on during the league year, which ran from April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010.

Quarterback Drew Brees ranked second in individual jersey sales behind Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. Tailback Reggie Bush ranked 10th, and tight end Jeremy Shockey ranked 24th.

Naturally, the Saints' Super Bowl victory gave them a big boost, with all those championship hats and T-shirts and DVDs adding to their tally, in addition to the increased exposure and popularity. But the Who Dat Nation
