Troops advanced towards Aleppo's al-Amiria, Sheikh Saeed

The Syrian army is making gains in its fight against foreign-backed insurgents in the north-western province of Aleppo.

Reports say army units have advanced towards Aleppo's al-Amiria and Sheikh Saeed districts. Earlier, Syrian troops managed to regain control of the al-Ramouseh district also in Aleppo. Meanwhile, Syrian forces have defused about ten roadside bombs, each weighting between 30 and 50 kilograms, on the main highway in the eastern countryside of Homs province. In recent months, the army has made major gains across the country, killing large numbers of insurgents.
