Persecuted opponents of Putin's regime continue to flee to Ukraine

Over the past week, three Russian citizens sought refugee status from Ukraine because of persecution in their country - reported by State Border Service of Ukraine.

They were Russian citizens at the age of 45, 38 and 27 years.

One of them arrived at the checkpoint "Kiev-Pass" on December 2d. During the clearance process, he told the border guards officers that he needed "additional protection". According to him, in Russia he is being persecuted for taking part in anti-corruption rallies, including Alexei Navalny's actions.

Another citizen filed a similar request for refugee status on 29 November. "He said that he was forced to flee and seek asylum in Ukraine in connection with his persecution by Putin's regime for taking part in protesting actions," the report said.

The third Russian asked for asylum in Ukraine on November 28, he turned to one of the checkpoints in the Chernihiv region.
