this film features a great film-maker Geoffrey Jones (27 November 1931 - 21 June 2005) he was a British documentary film director and editor, noted for his contributions to the genre of the 'industrial film' and in particular the British Transport Films. He was the man behind the only 'industrial film' ever nominated for an Oscar Award, namely the film 'Snow 1963' about the big freeze that gripped England and the rail system in 1963, it went on to win 14 Awards.
Here we see him towards the end of his life talking about how some of his great films came about. One of the films he talks about is called Locomotion which was about the origins of the 'Railway Age' with the opening of the first passenger railway known as the Stockton and Darlington Railway which opened in 1825 and the other one is about [i]Snow.[
