Campus Police Officer Escapes Prison For Marijuana Growing Operation


ALBANY -- A decorated State University of New York
police officer who was appointed as the first female investigator in
the department's ranks has been arrested with her husband on federal
marijuana manufacturing charges.

Wendy Knoebel, 48, of Duanesburg,Schenectady County, was arrested Wednesday by federalagents on charges alleging she and her husband, Kenneth, were growing approximately 100
marijuana plants inside a pole barn at their Suits Road property.
Knoebel is an investigator at the University at Albany campus.The couple were released after an appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Randolph Treece
