Driver running from police runs through a gas station, caught on surveillance (Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania)

(December 9th,2011) Suspect running from police crashes into a gas station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Caught from multiple angles by surveillance camera's.

PITTSBURGH -- Police are investigating after the driver of a stolen van crashed into the Sunoco A-Plus store early Friday morning along the Boulevard of the Allies. Police said the van was left parked but running when Derek Sharpe, 29, jumped in and fled.Police said Sharpe, of New Kensington, had been at the emergency room at UPMC Presbyterian and was causing problems, so officers were called.Sharpe then left the emergency room and unsuccessfully tried to steal cars two separate times before stealing a University of Pittsburgh van near Roberto Clemente Drive, police said.

After taking the van, police said Sharpe crashed into the A-Plus store.“He was not being pursued,” said Chief Timothy Delaney of the University of Pittsburgh
